My case was finally thrown out, but it was a nerve-wracking ordeal that only furthered the abuse that was initiated by Brian, the doorman of The Cock, that evening. After six months in court, therapy, $2,000 in legal fees I am finally able to write this review.
All this happened after I exited the club, but was unable to leave completely as I was constantly threatened, called homophobic slurs, and surrounded by the drug-dealing kids, who though not malicious, prevented me from walking away. Nevertheless, I was grateful that they were there as I feared for my life. The witnesses being Brian, the drug-dealing kids, and the bouncer were all the police listened to. A team of officers came but did not allow me to file a hate crime or file my own charges. Brian then called the police and had me arrested. He threatened to break my arm after driving my face over and over into the pavement. On Sunday morning, March 24th, 2019 at between 1:45 AM and 2 AM, I was bullied, harassed and finally gay-bashed by Brian, the long-time doorman and the straight-identified bouncer who chased me down the street and threw me into the sidewalk. This review is meant to add to the proof of the homophobic, aggressive, and unsafe behavior pattern of the security personnel working at The Cock, at 93 2nd Avenue, New York, NY 10009.
